Update: Proposition D’assemblée Générale Le 11 Novembre 2011: Futur Du Mouvement

Bonjour à toutes et tous,

Mardi 25 octobre a eu lieu, comme chaque semaine, l’assemblée du 15M Bruselas à laquelle plusieurs collègues indignés d’autres groupes se sont joints. Lors de cette assemblée nous avons discuté du fait d’articuler dorénavant notre travail conjoint et quels sont les outils que l’on pourrait utiliser pour cela.

Parmi de nombreux sujets, nous avons notamment discuté du fait que beaucoup d’informations sont en train de se générer et qu’il serait nécessaire de la distribuer d’une manière plus efficace, tant au niveau interne qu’au niveau externe au mouvement. Nous avons aussi discuté sur notre coordination interne, des différents groupes de travail, des sites web et de leur gestion…

En résumé, nous avons parlé du fait d’organiser le mouvement  d’une manière plus efficace pour lui donner une continuité, puisque l’indignation, loin de  perdre sa force, croît jour après jour.

Update: Voorstel voor een Algemene Volksvergadering op 11 November: Toekomst van de Beweging

Beste Vriendinnen en Vrienden,

Op dinsdag 25 oktober ging zoals elke week de Volksvergadering van 15M Bruselas door waarbij zich verschillende collega’s van andere groepen hebben aangesloten. Tijdens deze Volksvergadering hebben we de kwestie van ons gezamenlijk werk besproken en de middelen die we daarbij zouden kunnen gebruiken.

Onder de vele onderwerpen die we besproken hebben, hadden we het over het feit dat er voortdurend heel veel informatie gegenereerd wordt en dat het nodig zou zijn om die op een efficiëntere manier te verspreiden, zowel binnen de beweging als naar buiten toe, en welke middelen we daarbij zouden gebruiken. We hebben ook gesproken over onze interne coördinatie, de verschillende werkgroepen, de web sites en hun beheer.

Samengevat hebben we gesproken over de kwestie om de beweging op een efficiëntere manier te organiseren om haar continuïteit te verzekeren, want de verontwaardiging groeit dag na dag, in plaats van af te nemen.

Using a mailing list for information exchange between cities – Proposition Communication Workgroup Brussels November 4, 2011

Why?

We pleaded for reliable and transparent information exchange in our previous proposal. I will argue that only a mailing list is both, reliable and transparent. But there are two extra arguments: a mailing list has an horizontal structure and since mail is the oldest internet application, its threshold is very low.

I will argue by excluding other applications because they lack at least one of the four qualities mentioned.

Facebook. Facebook is not reliable. Fake id’s all around, so not transparent, plenty of manipulation all around too. Zuckerberg is collaborating with governments and police, deletes groups when under pressure, remember the oil spill in theMexicanGulf.

Scoop.it: Scoop.it is not horizontal. It is not clear to the users who is composing it behind the curtains.

The need for information and information exchange that can be trusted – Proposition Communication Workgroup Brussels november 4, 2011

Why?

In daily practice in the real world we trust information from people we trust, people with whom we maintain stable social relationships. These are people we meet regularly face to face. As to the social researcher Dunbar the number of people with whom one can maintain stable social relationships is cognitively limited to about 150 people.

But what is trusted information in a movement wanting to span thousands of people?  The simple answer is: information that was released by some (general) assembly we attended.

There are two problems with this answer.

(1) We cannot attend all assemblies though we are interested in the decisions taken there. How is this information spread?

(2) How can we know that the source spreading some decision of an assembly can be trusted.

Today this is not clear at all because most information, for those who didn’t attend, is spread using the internet. Some people manage to make others believe that they are ‘representing the movement’. Let’s be very clear about this. They do not represent us.

Working Language for national and international meetings: English – Proposition Communication Workgroup Brussels november 4, 2011

Why?

Meetings in Brussels tend to be unilingual, bilingual or to become a disaster.  My experience with assemblies in Brussels is limited, but one I assisted was French only.  No translation at all.

The Assembly on the 8th of October, when the Marches from the South arrived at Park Saint Elisabeth, used translators for French, Spanish and English. So it took plenty of time and ended in a rupture… It didn’t work. I’m in favour of sequential translation when only two languages are involved. But…

When national or international meetings take place inBrusselsone should at least consider what language the participants have in common. This will be English most of the time. When marching with the Meseta March, I was struck by the fact that French people and Spanish people did not understand each other. They had to use English as a bridge.

Oproep voor Samenwerking van alle Volksvergaderingen voor de Brusselse Agora

Op 8 Oktober, komen de verschillende marsen van verschillende landen toe in Brussel. Op die dag begint ook de Globale Agora van de Beweging waarop alle volksvergaderingen van de planeet zijn uitgenodigd.

Marsen komen toe in Brussel uit Spanje, Frankrijk, Nederland, het Verenigd Koninkrijk en Duitsland. We hebben ook toezeggingen ven mensen uir de Sahara, Zwitserland, Italië, Griekenland, Portugal, Ierland, Ijsland, Polen, Israël, Palestina, de Verenigde Staten, Chili, Argentinië, Venezuela, Mexico en Egypte. We verwachten nog meer toezeggingen. Op die dag is er  een evenement  rond de aankomst van de Marsen met het voorlezen van een gemeenschappelijke verklaring van de Marsen en de ervaringen die ze hebben opgedaan.

Van 9 tot 14 Oktober zullen er thematische forums gehouden worden op elk plein van de stad Brussel, grote Volksvergaderingen, bijeenkomsten voor kindere, opvoeringen, acties, workshops voor software tools en de methode van de Volskvergadering.

Op 15 Oktober is er een manifestatie van de globale Beweging.
